Today Happy Kids Foundation is coordinating an evacuation action of children from an orphanage in Kyiv region, in Ukraine. A special challenge to be dealt with is the age of the refugees. There are 150 people(children and guardians) are goin by train from Bayorka (near Kyiv) to Przemyśl in Poland. There are 86 children: about 20 infants and children up to 5. They will be provided with 3 coaches to go to the north of Poland(with a stop at Bełchatów) to reach Słupskie county. Overall, about 310 people coming from Zaporozhye and Zhotomyr. are going to be evacuated in the nearest 24 hours, there are also about 11 dog pets. Some of the refugees will go to Łódź (a city in Poland). Since the outbreak of war we have already saved thousands of children and guardians, including the disabled ones. Refugees came from cities like: Kharkiv, Kherson, Lviv,, Kyiv, Odessa, Poltava, Zhotomyr I Wolyn. Our action is mainly focused on saving children at the shortest time possible because the Russian attacker’s cruelty to civilians is unimaginable. At the same time we are looking for places, which are suitable to live in and adapted to kids. Happy Kids Foundation is helping refugees together with Child Protection and Adoption Department in Social Policy Ministry in Ukraine and Ministry of Family and Social Policy in Poland. Our organisation together with the city of Łódź is taking care of the refugees in cooperation with
self-governments in the whole country. UN Global Compact Network, which is the biggest world initiative concerning sustainable business, is encouraging the private sector to take action. It also provides help in case of crisis.
